VISIT TO PURMAMARCA AND TILCARA
Purmamarca is a beautiful town in the province of Jujuy. It is located at the bottom of the Hill of Seven Colors, and its name means “town of the virgin land” in Aymará language.
This small village from the early XVII century, of pre-Hispanic origin, is a colorful and original destination where visitors can enjoy the landscape while going hiking, horse riding or on excursions of contemplative tourism along the river of the same name, or along the Paseo de los Colorados, with its beautiful rock formations that were naturally carved.
During your stay in Jujuy, you can also visit the town of Tilcara, located in the center of the Humahuaca Valley, attracting thousands of tourists amazed by its beauty.
The heart of the town is the main square “Manuel Álvarez Prado”, where the craft fair takes place. Very nearby is the church of Our Lady of the Rosary and the museums, such as the Archaeological Museum “Eduardo Casanova”, the Museum of Painting “José Antonio Terry” and the Museum of Fine Art “Hugo Irureta”.
